Hiya! My name is Shona and I am profoundly deaf. I wear two hearing aids and can both speak/lip-read and sign well. I currently live in Blackpool but I was born in East Midlands and have been to both mainstream and deaf schools so I do have a lot of different experiences. I started to learn British Sign Language when I was 10 and now I am fluent in both BSL and English.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and so teaching BSL Level One is a great start for me! I have recently qualified in PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in Long-Life Sector) and am attempting to start CTLLS sometime soon. I have taught Family Sign Language and BSL Level One for the past few years and I am really enjoying it so far! I always look forward to teaching my classes and meeting new people.
